The Boss Equestrian James Core is a pair of technical men's riding breeches with silicone knee patches and light, elasticated stretch fabric. They are made for riders who wear the same breeches in training and at competitions and want purchase at the knee without giving up freedom of movement. About these breeches
The James Core is the Knee Grip version: the silicone sits on the inside of the knee, exactly at the point where your leg makes contact with the saddle. That gives you stability when you ride in full seat, and leaves your pelvis free when you come out of the saddle. For riders who alternate between dressage work and jumping work, that is often the practical choice.
The material is a lightweight, elasticated performance fabric that moves entirely with you. In the saddle you notice it in the simple things: mounting, rising trot, taking your leg back. The fabric does not hold you back. Because the breeches are light and breathable, they stay comfortable during an intensive training session as well.
Practically, the James is well thought out. At the front there are slash pockets, and on the thigh there is a phone pocket. That pocket keeps your device in place while you walk around the yard or lead your horse out, instead of letting it slide around in an ordinary pocket. That makes these breeches a model you keep on from the morning routine until after training.
The finish matches the brand's sporty style. The breeches are machine washable, quick-drying and colourfast, which matters for the lighter colours: anyone who washes regularly wants the white to stay white and the beige to keep its shade.
