The Cavalor Electroliq Balance is a liquid electrolyte supplement for horses, containing sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, magnesium and phosphorus. It is used around the moments when a horse sweats heavily: hard work, hot summer days, stress or long journeys. Because the formula is liquid, it spreads evenly through the feed and little of it is left at the bottom of the bucket. An apple flavouring makes it more appealing to fussy eaters.
About this supplement
For this formula Cavalor works with isotonic and iso-electric mineral salts. Electroliq Balance also contains dextrose, glucose and citric acid. Sodium phosphate acts as a buffer within the formula, and the whole is finished with apple flavouring.
Each 50 ml dose provides 3.14 g sodium, 2.62 g potassium, 6.21 g chloride, 0.70 g calcium, 0.36 g magnesium and 0.25 g phosphorus. That tells you exactly what ends up in the bucket, which is useful if you already feed other mineral supplements.
Cavalor advises giving Electroliq Balance within two hours before sweating, or immediately afterwards. For ponies the recommendation is 30 ml per day, for sport horses 50 ml per day. Do not give more than 100 ml per horse per day, and make sure your horse always has unlimited access to fresh drinking water.
